All Points Equine believes that preventative care is the foundation for a long, healthy life for your equine companion.
A comprehensive wellness program tailored for the individual is the best insurance to keeping your animal healthy. Annual and bi-annual examinations allow for early detection of any possible health concerns and early intervention to keep them from becoming a larger problem. We focus on nutrition, parasite control, healthy weight and emerging needs for our patients. Routine care allows for a better understanding of your pet and promotes a partnership dedicated to keeping your pet healthy. Hopefully, a comprehensive, tailored wellness plan improves the quality of life of your horse while also decreasing emergency visits!
Preventative Care services include
- Vaccinations: These are annual to biannual and are risk based.
- Physical Examinations: The examination is the most important part of the wellness program. These are performed once to twice a year. The veterinarians get to know your horse when it is healthy, as well as catching health problems before they become emergencies.
- Fecal Based De-worming Programs: The veterinary team will customize a de-worming schedule based on each horse’s parasite load.
- Preventative and therapeutic Dentistry: All Points Equine can help keep your horse’s mouth healthy with annual to biannual exams and perform treatments from floats to extractions.
- Coggins Test (EIA): All Points Equine utilizes Global Vet Link digital Coggins format to allow for improved accuracy and rapid turn around.
- Digital Health Certificates: These are also performed using Global Vet Link for ease of access.
- Micro-chipping: Utilizing FEI compliant chips.
- Surgery: A limited amount of field surgeries can be performed in the field. Castration of colts under 2 years of age is the most common procedure. Mass removal and enucleations can also be performed.
